Samsung Galaxy S20 Review
The Galaxy S20 is not the best Samsung got this year, S20 Ultra got that honor and won the race. However, S20 has some remarkable features as well; that is why we can not simply ignore it. With its attractive design, the introduction of 5G, rear camera upgrade, and the display of 120Hz, you won’t be wrong if you call this phone one of the most powerful handset of this generation.
The first question that must have struck your mind would be that what happened to S11? After the great success of Samsung Galaxy S10 in 2019, which was its predecessor, we all were waiting for an S11. But instead, we got S20. This jump seems to be a little confusing; however, it makes a lot of sense if we care to notice the massive upgrades, we received in the form of S20. Also, you get to witness the first 5G phone by Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 is relatively a lot cheaper than S20 Ultra or S20 Plus; however, it does not mean that this phone is a low-end product in terms of quality.
In a nutshell, you are getting a 6.2-inch, ultra-fast display with 120Hz of refresh rate, a big battery, top-quality rear and front cameras, and most importantly, 5G download speed, which is of course only usable depending on your network provider.
Let’s dig in deeper:
- Beautiful Design
At first glance, Samsung Galaxy S20 does not look very different from S10; however, if you watch closely, you can see some subtle yet significant enhancements.
The front camera’s cutout is located at the top center of the phone instead of the right side. Also, the cutout is a lot smaller this time, which is playing its part in enhancing the look of the phone.
In addition, unlike last time, the display of S20 has fewer curves so that you don’t accidentally touch the screen while shifting hands.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 comes in some attractive colors so that the phone looks as good as its operator. You will get three aesthetically pleasing colors which are: Cloud Blue, Cloud Pink, and Cosmic Grey.
- Camera – A massive upgrade
The camera on this phone is another highlight of the year. Samsung decided to boost a lot of their specs, and they can certainly not forget the camera. All three cameras have substantially upgraded, and that includes an increase in pixel sizes along with improvement in other features such as night time photography. Moreover, the updates in the software will absolutely improve your overall camera experience.
It’s no secret that Samsung wasn’t leading the race when it came to camera performance. It had always been behind Apple and Google. However, the S20 has come out to be a threat for both the brands, with its bigger zoom, bigger sensors, and additional features.
The triple rear camera comes with a 12-MP wide sensor, along with a telephoto lens of 64MP and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. Its telephoto lens is a lot better than the lens used on S10. The lens will not only allow you to shoot top-quality pictures but will also enable you to enjoy its 30x digital zoom.
- Big Battery
Another excellent feature that caught our attention was its 4,000mAh battery. It’s without a doubt better than the one used in the S10, which was 3400mAh. However, it won’t last more than a day of normal use. Unfortunately, the batter average of Galaxy S20 is just 9 hours and 31 minutes. Considering the fact that this phone comes with a 120Hz display along with 5G connectivity, it is more than what you can expect.
- Smooth Display
Samsung’s flagship phones have always been praised for their surprisingly smooth and top-quality displays. The Galaxy S20 is no different. This time what’s significantly different is that the display now features a 120Hz refresh rate. For those who have trouble understanding what a 120Hz refresh rate is, it means that your S20’s 6.2-inch OLED display will refresh 120 times a second, which will make sure that your display is lag-free and smooth as silk.
- Our verdict – Should you buy it?
For most of you wondering whether you should buy it or not, we believe that this Samsung’s flagship is worth your bucks, and you should definitely get it. The Samsung Galaxy S20 is one of the best Android phones you can find on the market right now. And it is very likely that it will be the top-selling smartphone this year, with a lot of satisfied and happy customers.
Yes, you can find other smartphones; some offer better cameras, while others provide superior memory. However, no other phone can offer a complete package like S20 does, while making sure that you don’t have to sell your kidney to get one.
With the 5G connectivity, powerful CPU, beautiful display, and a massive camera upgrade trust us when we say that the S20 is the King of Android (so far)
